Our Story & Workshop Philosophy
Located at 2667 32nd Avenue in Fargo, North Dakota, Fran's IT Learning was built on a simple conviction: remote systems administration cannot be mastered through passive multiple-choice quizzes or theoretical slide decks. Technicians and engineers learn best when seated before an active terminal, connecting to live remote nodes, solving realistic access bottlenecks, and configuring encrypted channels.
We focus heavily on MobaXterm, secure shell (SSH) client management, network connectivity troubleshooting, and practical Linux server administration. Our courses are specifically designed to give working adults, career changers, and corporate technical teams the immediate muscle memory needed in modern IT operations.
What Makes Our Labs Different?
- Dedicated Student Workbenches: Every learner is provisioned with their own cloud environment—not a shared simulation, but real virtual machines running Ubuntu and Rocky Linux behind a firewall and jump host.
- Intimate Cohort Sizes: We limit our workshops to 12 students per session so instructors can provide live screen-by-screen assistance and debugging.
- Focus on MobaXterm Productivity: While generic courses treat terminals as simple black boxes, we teach students how to harness MobaXterm's full potential: X11 server forwarding, automated SFTP docking, multi-execution command broadcast, and encrypted credential vaults.
